#10 Google Trends

Google Trends

The New Face of Forecasting?

"consumers are Googling tulle skirts, midi skirts, palazzo pants and jogger pants, according to the company, which plans to start issuing fashion trend reports based on user searches twice a year. The new trend aggregations are part of the company’s bid to become a bigger player in e-commerce and fashion beyond its product search engine or advertising platform."

#9 New Show Format

marc by marc jacobs
Spring 2015

I had the pleasure to go to the marc by marc jacobs spring 2015 show last Fall. The show was a new format, because it involved an intricate runway and set that was accompanied by sensational lighting and custom music. In addition the brand created more of an experience for its viewers other than a traditional fashion week show.

Trunk Shows

"A trunk show is an event in which vendors present merchandise directly to store personnel or customers at a retail location or another venue such as a hotel room. In many cases it allows store personnel to preview and/or purchase merchandise before it is made available to the public. "
